Piano

STRING & PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT

Although the piano was invented at the beginning of the 18th century, it was not until 50 years later that it started to become popular. The first time the piano was played in a public concert in London was in 1768 when it was played by Johan Christian Bach.

The piano has been a very popular instrument ever since the mid 18th century when it soon replaced the clavichord and the harpsichord. By the early 19th century the sound that the piano made was big enough to fill large concert halls. Smaller pianos were made for use in people’s homes. At first these included square pianos and giraffe pianos, later on the upright pianos became popular for home use.
Pianos are not often used in orchestras (if they are, they are part of the percussion section). They may, however, be used for piano concertos (pieces for solo pianist accompanied by orchestra). There is a vast amount of music written for piano solo. The piano can also be used together with other instruments, in jazz groups, and for accompanying singing.

Our Lessons

The basics of playing the instrument are first taught to the pupils, after which they move on to learning how to sight read music, understand music through theory and auditory studies, and learn about other composers and their piano compositions. Additionally, learning to play piano it is easy!. Students will grow more swiftly as soloists and accompanists thanks to Conroe Music and Art Academy’s instructor-led classes. We assist students with developing the skills, repertoire, and self-assurance necessary to perform in almost any musical genre.

Private & Group Lessons

In Conroe Music & Art Academy we offer private and group lesson.

Private Lessons have the advantage of progressing in your skills with a direct acknowledgement from our teachers. Our teachers have the opportunity to dedicate time to one particular student, supervising and perfecting their hand movements, finger placements, reading and execution. With a continuous repetition and practice in order to compose well-sounding symphonies, private lessons are ideal to accomplish these goals.

Group lessons offer such students the opportunity to meet and mingle with like-minded people who share the same interests in music.
